Streetcorner House
Nestled in the peaceful pocket of Canonbury, Streetcorner House emerges as a long overdue restoration of the classic end of the terrace Victorian townhouse. Originally a two-in-one, with a ground-floor shop and upstairs residence, the owner sought Unknown Makers to restore its charm and functionality.
Our design journey delved into all four floors, unearthing the hidden potential, challenges, and undeniable character of the property. A key focus was seamlessly integrating the commercial space with the rest of the house, transforming it from a separate entity into a welcoming transition space.
The proposed layout embraces flexibility, adapting to the ever-evolving needs of the owner's life and his buisness. Like a blank canvas, ready to morph into a bustling workshop or a serene creative haven: a space that fuels both professional endeavours and personal solace.
