Archway Pocket
Nestled in the heart of Archway, the Pocket is an example of the joyful and rewarding process of refurbishing old Victorian townhouses. The property, originally part of a four-storey residential building, is now a one-bedroom flat overlooking a bustling high street and a peaceful residential area.
The brief was to optimize the existing layout, which featured a south-facing bedroom and a north-facing kitchen-living area separated by a bathroom and lobby.
With limited space, the design team focused on amplifying the flat's unique charm: generous ceiling height, grand timber sash windows, and enchanting sunlight cast through the flat at dawn and dusk.
The colour and material palette were carefully chosen for the compact space: playful and bright hues for the main areas and darker accents in the bathroom to create a sense of depth.
With the potential for future rentals in mind, the owners opted for durable materials and finishes that would ensure the longevity of the property.
